Abstract: “Make-it-new” is an innovative approach to academic inheritance. A rereading of Wellek’s “The Crisis of Comparative Literature” along with Hillis Miller’s “The (Language) Crisis of Comparative Literature” reveals the latter to be an illustration of “making-it-new.” A rereading of Wellek and Warren’s Literary Theory along with Perloff’s Infrathin brings out “make-it-new” insights in the latter. Miller’s “(Language) Crisis” alludes to “cultural gap” created by “cultural imperialism.” Through criticizing Western-centrism, Miller initiates a new criterion for comparative literature. As Russian formalist leader Jacobson’s disciple, Wellek is expected to contribute to Literary Theory accurate and insightful interpretation of Jacobson. Perloff read about Jacobson in Literary Theory. She kept rereading Jacobson for 60 years until 2022 when she launched in Infrathin micropoetics by making Russian formalism new.

摘要： 推陈出新是一种创新型的学术传承方式。重读韦勒克的“比较文学的危机”和希里斯·米勒的“比较文学的（语言）危机”,会发现后者为推陈出新、学术传承之一例。重读韦勒克与沃伦的《文学理论》和帕洛夫的《虚薄》,会发现后者为推陈出新、学术传承之又一例。米勒文中所谓“（语言）危机”实指“文化帝国主义”造成的“文化鸿沟”。通过批判西方中心主义,米勒推出强调读懂“弱势语言”的比较文学的新标准。作为俄国形式主义奠基人雅各布森的弟子,韦勒克在《文学理论》中将俄国形式主义阐释得淋漓尽致。帕洛夫最早从《文学理论》读到雅各布森,60余年反复研读雅各布森,逝世前出版《虚薄》,终于在俄国形式主义的基础上推陈出新,开创了解析20世纪与21世纪现代主义诗歌的微诗学。
