Abstract: American literature in the American Renaissance period (from 1830 to 1860) represented a major trend of cultural hybridity bearing distinct features of ecologism. On the one hand, Chinese culture has been creatively received and transformed by American writers, while the great transcultural impacts gave shape to their new vision of Chinese thought along with the evolvement of American culture. On the other hand, the prolonged ecologic spirit in ancient Chinese thought became an indispensable part of the emerging ecological trend in American literature. From an ecological viewpoint in the cross-cultural context, this study re-examines the cultural and literary exchanges between China and America in the pre-modern era. It aims to seek for the common characteristics among the two different cultures, utilize resources valuable to today's development of ecological culture, and further construct the community of shared destiny for mankind.

摘要： 美国文艺复兴时期的新文化呈现出一种鲜明的生态主义取向,其中对东方文化尤其是中国文化的接受和转化,一方面体现了中国文化对美国文艺复兴时期新文化的极大影响,显示了美国自身文化建设中的中国文化视野;另一方面,美国文学在这一时期出现了明显的生态转型,这与中华文化自古以来蕴含的生态精神有着无法割裂的联系。从生态主义角度和文明交流的宏观视野,重新审视中美两国文化与文明之间的联系,有利于寻求文化共通性,从中吸取有利于当代生态文明建设的资源,进而推动建构人类命运共同体。
