Abstract: In the process of the modernization and internationalization of Oriental aesthetics, the theory of Japanese aesthetics by Donald Keene, a world-famous Japanese American scholar, has an important influence and proliferation. Donald Keene not only translated the Japanese literary classic Essays in Idleness: The Tsurezuregusa of Kenkō into English, but also expounded and summarized it with enlightenment. Donald Keene's view of Japanese aesthetics is embodied in four main features: suggestion, irregularity, simplicity and perishability. Around the turn of millennium, a number of new achievements emerged in the study of Japanese aesthetics in the English-speaking world, which not only expanded Donald Keene's theory of Japanese aesthetics, but also suggested the developing frontier trend of shifting from traditional comparative mode to the intercultural aesthetics. American scholar C.S. Gould recently adopted Donald Keene's aesthetic discourse to confirm and compare the categories of “Iki” of Japanese aesthetics and “Glamour” of Western aesthetics in a new nomadic era of multicultural hybrids. It typically embodies the extension effect of Donald Keene's theory of Japanese aesthetics, and highlights an important aspect of contemporary international aesthetic convergence.

摘要: 在东方美学当代化与国际化的进程中,著名的日籍美国学者唐纳金的日本美学理论具有重要的影响和增殖性。唐纳金不仅英译了日本文学经典《徒然草》,还对其进行了富于启迪性的阐发与归纳。唐纳金的日本美学观集中体现在其所提炼的四大特征:“暗示”“不规整性”“简素”和“无常”。千禧年前后,英语世界的日本美学研究涌现出一批新成果,不仅拓展了唐纳金的日本美学论,还提示了从传统比较模式转向间性文化美学的前沿发展趋势。在当今多元文化混杂的新游牧时代,美国学者古尔德近期采借唐纳金的美学话语,印证与比较日本美学的“意气”(Iki)和西方美学的“魅力”(Glamour)范畴,较为典型地体现了唐纳金日本美学理论的拓展效应,凸显了国际美学当代会通的一个重要侧面。
