Abstract: Topics such as “Goethe in China” have been widely known in academic research. This article will discuss the translation or reception of Goethe's Faust in China and focuses mainly on the fact that almost all titles in Chinese translations have abandoned the subtitle “Eine Tragödie”. Goethe himself will be quoted to try to reinterpret this work.

摘要： 诸如“歌德在中国”这样的题目在学界已广为人知。本文拟另辟蹊径,讨论歌德《浮士德》在中国的汉译及解读情况。该文重点拟揭示一个至今为人忽视的问题,即几乎所有汉译书名,均弃其副标题“一部悲剧”不译,并探究这一现象的成因。文章最后拟引歌德本人的有关文字,尝试重新解读此作。
