上海编译所创办始末

摘要/Abstract

摘要： 作为共和国翻译出版史上的一个重要机构,上海编译所至今较少为学界所知。本文基于大量档案文献,对其历史进行了考掘和梳理。其创办背景和原因,与文艺批判、出版整肃、稿酬制度改革、翻译计划化、译者组织化、统战政策等因素有关。在人事、经济和政治制度方面,该所是宏观政策与具体现实折中调和的产物;就效果影响而言,编译所帮助了处境困难的职业译者,支持了特殊时期经典类、外事外联类和情报类著作的翻译。

Abstract: On the basis of large amounts of archives,this research aims to shed light on the history of Shanghai Translation Institute,an important yet lesser known institution in the translation history of PRC.The institute was established on the background of literary movements,book censorship,reform to author's renumeration,planning of translation and translators,and policy toward intellectuals.Its personnel,economic and political systems were the result of a compromise between general guidelines and current situation.To some extent,it helped support the then impoverished free-lance translators,and sponsored the translation of classic literature and literary intelligence,and books for diplomatic and liaison purposes.
