Abstract: Ever since Franco Moretti put forward distant reading in his 2000 essay “Conjectures on World Literature”, it has had great impacts upon western scholars and become a new paradigm of literary studies in the era of Big Data. By exploring Moretti's view on world literature, this essay discusses the reasons why Moretti raises the concept, his major contributions, the debate on the concept and its development in recent digital humanities. The essay argues that although his research invokes debates, Moretti's conceptual and practical innovations lead the forefront of world literary studies.

摘要： 自美国意大利裔学者弗兰科·莫莱蒂2000年在其论文“世界文学的猜想”中提出“远读”概念以来,远读在西方学术界产生了深远的影响,已成为大数据时代文学研究的新范式。本文从莫莱蒂的世界文学观入手,对莫莱蒂为什么提出远读的方法、其主要贡献是什么、在哪些地方引发了争议,以及目前远读在数字人文领域的发展状况等方面进行评析,认为莫莱蒂的研究尽管引发了争鸣,但他所作的概念和实践上的创新具有引领世界文学研究前沿的重要作用。
