Abstract: Based on the recognition of the intertextuality between Eileen Chang's debut novel Eaglewood Incense: The First Incense Burner and Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession,this paper holds that Chang rewrote Shaw's play by remodeling the leading character Vivian into Weilong. From the perspective of “fallen” women,Chang dived into the psychological struggle of the Weilong's inner world by exhibiting her inner dialogue. The intertextuality with Eaglewood Incense: The First Incense Burner can also be found in other texts and historical culture context. Such intertextual rewriting strategy was frequently applied by Shaw. Considering Chang's reception of Shaw, the paper therefore concludes that the influence of Shaw on Chang lies in the writing strategy rather than detailed similarities of the texts. Stimulating intertextual reading, the strategy creates a chain interaction among texts and thus extend their vitality.

摘要： 张爱玲作为职业小说家的第一部作品《沉香屑·第一炉香》与萧伯纳剧作《华伦夫人的职业》之间存在互文性。本文认为,前者是对后者的重写,张爱玲在重写中运用心理分析的手法重塑了剧中人物形象,对女性堕落的观照视角从人物与外部世界的抗争,潜入至内心世界的挣扎。《第一炉香》与多个外部文本以及文化语境之间进行了呼应和对话,是典型的互文式写作。通过梳理两位作家的代表作品可以发现,萧伯纳对张爱玲的文学影响并不在于对文本中人物关系和场景的借用,而在于互文式重写策略。这种写作策略形成了文本间的连锁互动,能够激发读者的互文式阅读从而延展文本的生命力。
