Abstract: The article explores the influence of space-time paradigm in Chinese painting on Pound's poetics. From application of cavalier perspective to focusing on spiritual space and social order, Pound not only introduces the concept of time in Chinese painting to his poetic art and expresses his understanding on Imagism, but also traces the root of Chinese traditional culture and finds Taoist aesthetics and Confucian ethics. Pound has an inspiration from Chinese culture, which produces a great impact on English and American poetry. He sets an example for promoting cultural communication between East and West in his practice.
