摘要: 柳园图是18世纪末英国陶工仿制青花瓷时设计的一种图案,由此图案又衍生出神话故事“柳碟缘”。一目了然的中国血统使二者充溢着新异的东方情调,成为英国文人乐于书写、化用及再造的文学原型。中国爱情母题孕育下的“柳碟缘”是中英文化交流的范式性案例,是中国灵感及英人集体想象的结晶。而其在中英两国间的往返“旅行”更是充满传奇色彩,折射出异质文化交流中必然出现的变异及“本土在场”意识,值得深昧与剖析。

Abstract: The willow pattern was designed by the English potters who tried to imitate the Chinese blue and white porcelain in the end of 18th century. From this pattern, derived a legend named Willow Pattern Plate. The obvious Chinese origin makes both of them to be exotic and oriental, which attracts English writers to write, adapt and reconstruct them. The legend derived from the Chinese motif of love is a successful case and the achievement of Chinese inspiration with English collective imagination in the history of Anglo-Chinese cultural exchange. The legendary travels between the two countries of the story reflect the inevitable variation and native presence in cultural exchanges and deserve to be analyzed.
