Abstract: Season of Migration to the North is a representative work of Sudanese writer Tayeb Salih. This thesis analyzes how Tayeb Salih expanded the horizon of the text through intertextual dialogue with Eastern and Western classics, by sorting out the modern reconstruction of the stories of Othello and Antarah, combining the complex political and ethnic conditions of Sudan in the 20th century. This not only makes the story happening in modern Sudan have the universality of human tragedy, but also provides the protagonist Mustafa's life with the symbolic meaning of Sudan's fate as a modern nation-state, and expands the historical thinking of Sudan's cultural identity and development path at the intersection of Western, African and Arabic traditions.
