Abstract: In the 1930s and 1940s, Kim Gwang-ju, a modern Korean translator and writer, studied in Shanghai and northeast China for nearly 15 years. Based on his political and cultural experience in China, he was engaged in progressive literary creation, and paid close attention to development of modern Chinese literature. He was active in Chinese literature circle and participated in criticism, and translated many literary works of Lu Xun, Cao Yu and other Chinese modern writers to made an important contribution to the dissemination of Chinese modern literature in Korea. As a translator, he understood and mastered modern Chinese literature as an outsider inside, and realized the cultural transformation and integration of the two countries' literatures through translation. Especially, there is new cultural value for Chinese modern literary works in his intentional misunderstanding and rewriting.
