Abstract: It is known that the novel Man in the Wilderness is based on Lee Beom-seok's life experience living around the border between China and Mongolia from 1929－1931, the novel's contents are fairly similar to those of Lee Beom-seok's autobiography Bonfire and Bonfire Ⅱ. These texts, however, also differ in important ways. This article contains comparative analysis of Man in the Wilderness by Bu Naifu and autobiographical works by Lee Beom-seok to explore how Man in the Wilderness rewrites Lee Beom-seok's Oral Autoethnography in three aspects. The autobiographical works by Lee Beom-seok are more focused on portraying Lee Beom-seok by revealing the facts and highlighting his patriotism, while the novel tends to explain the author's philosophical thinking about the value of universal human and creating an aesthetic world, as well as constructing the interactive characters. In conclusion, this article attempts to address the values and efficacy of Chinese and Korean transcultural intertextuality.
