Abstract: The exchanges of Chinese modern literature and Korean modern literature have undergone three different stages, which are the period of re-evaluation and re-recognition (from the end of the 19th century to 1918), the period of interaction and diversified development (from the 1920s to 1936) and the period of common discourse and profound cooperation (from 1937 to 1945). Through communication and exchanges, the two literatures have completed their historical transformation and value reconstruction, therefore established the construction of their own unity and modernity. The bidirectional translation and introduction of Chinese modern literature and Korean counterpart have well reflected the transitional forms from ancient to modern period in terms of the relationship between subjectivity and literary needs, methods and modes, tendency and influence, which plays an important role in sharing literary concept and resource, realizing its complementation, and achieving mutual development. The cross-boundary writing of Chinese and Korean modern literature, which consists of the joint-writing activities on the same theme as well as mutual writing for cross-boundary experience, reflects the modern consciousness both in crossing the boundary and transcending cultures. In particular, the Chinese and Korean cross-boundary writing with the anti-Japanese theme embodies the spirit of fighting hegemony and imperialism and achieving peace of the mankind before the mid-20th century in East Asia, which is of important historical value in restoring history, activating memory and re-evaluating the East Asian spirit.
