从古印度民间神话到中国现代新十日谈小说—— 论沈从文故事小说《扇陀》的印度文学渊源

摘要： 短篇小说《扇陀》是沈从文取材《法苑珠林》所收录的“一角仙人故事”创作而成,1933年11月收入其“新十日谈”故事小说合集《月下小景》。《扇陀》在人物形象与故事主题上,较之佛经故事,进行了一番大胆而彻底的改写。早在1933年1月初次发表于《现代》杂志时,就已标出了“《新十日谈》之一”的字样,可谓是沈从文取材佛经故事重新创作的一篇中国现代新十日谈小说。但实际上,这一故事小说,无论是从故事的源流、文本的叙事艺术,还是故事主题的演绎与发展层面,都存在古印度民间神话发展影响的痕迹,因而有着深厚的印度文学渊源。

Abstract: “Santa” is a short story written by Shen Congwen based on the Jataka story “The Story of Rshya-$\acute{s}$r$\dot{n}$ga Rsi” collected in Fayuan Zhulin. In November 1933 it was included in the New Decameron story collection Yuexia Xiaojing. It is a bold and radical rewriting of the characters and the theme of the Buddhist scriptures. And as early as January 1933, first published in the Journal of the Modern, it has been marked with the words “one of the New Decameron”. It can be a New Decameron story Shen Congwen created in Modern China based on Buddhist Stories. But in fact, this story, either from the perspective of the origin of the story, the narrative art, or the deduction and development of story themes, there are some traces of the development impacts of ancient Indian folklore, and with deep roots of the Indian literature origin.
