The Relations between Cross-Border Travel and Wen Rui’an’s Wu Xia Novels

Jin Jin

Wen Rui'an became famous in Malaysia as the founder of Tian Lang Xing Poetry Society. He enrolled into National Taiwan University in 1974, and established the Shen Zhou Poetry Society in 1976. However, Wen was expelled from Taiwan under the charge of “spreading propaganda for bandits.” One year later, he became an employee of Jin Yong's Mingpao Daily. In the grand scheme of Cold War politics, this paper seeks to discuss the protean literary style of Wen’s writing, reconstruct his literary-physical migration, and underscore the cultural significance of his work.
