Abstract: Due to the proposal of constructing “Chinese School” as comparative literature's disciplinary goal, China's comparative literature has undergone obvious shifts since the 21st century. In influence studies, there have been shifts from “eastward spread of Western culture” to “westward spread of Eastern culture” and from “empirical research” to “non-empirical research,” and a trend of diversion from “foreign literature” to “international sinology”; In parallel studies, there have been shifts from “seeking homogeneity” to “seeking harmony in diversity” and from “pure literary study” to “interdisciplinary literature study”; In comparative poetics, there has been a shift from “interpreting Chinese literature and culture with Western discourse” to “starting dialogues between Chinese and Western literary theories” and reflections on “modernized interpretation of ancient Chinese literary theories”; In imageology, there has been a turn of interest from study of “Chinese people” to “China” the country and the exploration of research field from cross-civilization writing to image study in literary translation. The disciplinary goal of building a “Chinese School” in comparative literature and the turnings of China's comparative literature since the 21st century are in the win-win trend of mutual-construction.
